Job Description
Spectra Networks, an IT Consulting and Development Firm, is seeking a project based Web Developer. Ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience. In addition to working with the Spectra team, this candidate may be required to work directly with clients. Skill set should include project management, organization, client communication, and expertise in web development technologies. Experience with troubleshooting WordPress websites and Linux web servers is a plus.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Interface with clients (Marketing Companies, Graphic Designers, and PR Agencies) during their design process to provide input and feedback on design compatibility with development to create a seamless design to development process.
- Code and implement WordPress sites from Photoshop layouts through html/CSS/PHP.
- Code custom themes, functions and plugins for WordPress.
- Modify existing theme and plugin code to clients requirements.
- Clean up malware infected WordPress websites and harden if possible to prevent future infection.
- Troubleshoot plugin, theme and general WordPress errors.
- Candidate may work on-site or remotely but must be able to attend face-to-face or Skype meetings as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience of PHP programming, MySQL, CSS, HTML, and Javascript.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of developing WordPress CMS themes and plugins using the best practices.
- Experience with Bootstrap and creating responsive, cross-platform and cross-browser sites.
- Good understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Familiarity with web server configurations (NGINX, Apache, LiteSpeed) and managing Linux a plus.
- Able to work on a 1099 contractor basis.
