Introducing Verkada’s Newest Products – Quarter 2 – 2025 Update
Keeping our clients and customers informed about the latest updates and tools used to secure their business is a top priority here at Spectra Networks. As a Verkada partner in building security, we are privy to the latest Verkada products and improved features throughout the year. We aim to communicate these latest features and products that could help our clients secure their people and places.
Verkada, a leader in cloud-based physical security, rolled out its second quarter updates, making it even easier to secure buildings and their workforces for more than 29,000 customers worldwide and 89 Fortune 500 companies. We are proud to partner with Verkada as they redefine the future of physical security with continuous innovation.
Recently, in the Partner Pulse publication, Verkada announced some of their May 2025 products and features that could help protect your building and your people. Let’s explore what may be useful for your unique business needs.

Access Controls
One of the most fundamental parts of any business’s security systems includes implementing robust access controls, which can determine who or what can access specific systems, data, or physical spaces.
Some changes and improvements to existing access control technology include improved “User Search and Filtering,” which enables administrators to filter across 20+ attributes and refine their user searches to generate more precise and accurate results. Additionally, new “Bulk Door Settings” allow Admins to select multiple doors within or across sites and make changes to configurations simultaneously.
For Android users, there is a “Favorite Doors on Pass App” where users can now access “favorite” doors on the Android version of the Verkada Pass app in addition to iOS. There is even something for first-time users with improved Verkada Pass User Onboarding. This feature makes onboarding easier for first-time users to log in and set permissions properly to have a more frictionless BLE unlock and app experience.
Alarms
Building alarms allow security personnel to detect and alert others about potential threats and emergencies, such as unauthorized entry, fire, or other hazards. Some of Verkada’s latest improvements to its alarm systems include:
- Access Control Triggers: These allow for alarm triggers for doors that are forced open, held open, or opened without extra wiring or sensors.
- PTZ Camera Triggers: PTZ cameras can trigger an alarm when a person is detected in the frame (line-crossing and loitering are not supported).
- LAN-Connected Keypads: These BK22 keypads can be connected to the BP52 panel via LAN, allowing organizations to deploy keypads more easily throughout large sites.
- Daisy-Chaining Expanders: If your business needs to daisy-chain up to four BE32 expanders, this allows for up to 160 wired sensors per BP52 panel.
- Increased Wireless Sensor Limit: This addition to the number of hub devices allows for support up to 160 wireless sensors.
- BZ32 Siren Strobe: The BZ32 is a combined siren and strobe light that can be deployed indoors or outdoors with a wired or wireless connection.
- Automated Message via BZ11: Organizations can now trigger a computerized message on BZ11 horn speakers in response to an alarm.
- System Health Alerts: Organizations can now set up notifications via Alert Inbox for offline alarm devices, backup power failover, and supervised wiring issues.

Cameras
Security cameras serve multiple purposes in building security, including deterring crime, providing real-time monitoring, and aiding in incident review and evidence collection for law enforcement. They also enhance perimeter security, monitor access points, and can contribute to improved worker safety by enforcing compliance.
Verkada’s camera improvements include new sensors, search improvements, customizable lists for identification, added languages, and pairings with third-party applications. Here are some of the latest upgrades and updates to camera technology at Verkada.
- CY53-E Two-Camera Multisensor: This latest multisensor includes two independent and adjustable image sensors in a single device to support bidirectional monitoring from one installation point.
- People Lists and Smart Lists: These improvements allow an organization to group People of Interest (POIs) into customizable “People Lists” and “Smart Lists,” which would enable teams to create groups of individuals approved for specific areas within a building. Once enabled on particular cameras, Smart Lists will display people who do not match the list of pre-approved individuals.
- Command Connector customers can now use the second Ethernet port to connect more easily to an isolated camera network, reducing network reconfiguration requirements.
- History Player Search Improvements include using history player search to locate vehicles of interest across vast areas, like multiple city blocks, and to find people.
- Verkada introduced FIPS-validated 4K dome cameras (the CD63-F and CD63-E-F), and the FIPS-validated Command Connector (the CC700-F). The CC700-F supports encryption standards required for FedRAMP Ready (Moderate) deployments and enables government organizations to view non-Verkada cameras through a single, secure platform.
- Verkada camera technology now supports additional languages in AI-Powered Search. It can now support Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and English searches.
- In addition to pairing event data from third-party applications with camera footage, organizations can now use Helix to define custom criteria and receive real-time alerts when events of interest occur.
- Granular Privacy Regions are now options within a camera’s field of view. Organizations can now create more granular privacy regions using a 60x60 grid (replacing the existing 10x10 grid) over a camera’s field of view.
- Support for Non-Verkada PTZ Controls via Command Connector: Command Connector customers can manipulate non-Verkada PTZ cameras using an Xbox controller, joystick, or controls within Command.
Command & Connectivity
Security systems must be easy to operate and integrate well with other business technologies. Verkada’s latest updates allow for continued command and control and ease of connectivity with existing systems.
Some of the most recent updates for command include improved navigation for Settings Pages, access to up to 90 days of query logs, and enhanced monitoring and response to critical security events.
In terms of connectivity, Verkada has also rolled out further improvements such as support for Cellular Gateways in GovCloud, adding wi-fi passwords in advance to prevent downtime, and GW31-E Wi-Fi gateways can now be connected to hidden network SSIDs.
Verkada is constantly evolving and aware of technology innovations that make utilizing its products more efficient and easier than ever. As a Verkada partner, we aim to keep you in the loop about new products, improved existing technology, and changes that can keep your business and its people safe.
