Generative AI Tools You Should Know for the Workplace
By now, most of us have heard about generative AI being used in everyday life, helping write articles, emails, speeches for conferences, and the list goes on. But how many of us have done more than just play with these new tools and actually put them into practice, especially in the workplace?
Here is a breakdown of who’s using AI in the workplace and what tasks they could simplify for your current workload.

Who Is Using AI?
According to the Federal Reserve Board's study on AI use at the organizational level, AI is beginning to gain serious traction. In 2024, more than 40% of small businesses self-identified as using generative AI for daily tasks meant to improve productivity and efficiency, nearly double the level from the year before.
At the individual employee level, AI is also gaining momentum, with 56% of US employees using generative AI tools at work. While these numbers mean that company policies lag behind the individual adoption of the new tools, they are catching on.
Have you started making the most of this technology at your workplace? Here are a few ways you can do this.

How You Can Use AI at Work
You may have already started using AI like ChatGPT to help draft emails, create content for social media, or organize your thoughts into a cohesive presentation. But there are so many more things generative AI can do that you will want to tap into to make your workdays successful.
Task Automation
If you find yourself doing the same tasks repeatedly at work, AI can help automate and even personalize them. For instance, if your website has a contact form, AI can automatically respond to each individual who fills out the form with the desired information and an idea of how long it will take for a person to respond.
This task automation can also be done for repetitive tasks like data entry, scheduling, and inventory management to free up time for more strategic work.
Analyze Data
If you pore over spreadsheets, look for trends, or try to see outcomes from a series of data, using AI can make your job easier and vastly more productive. AI tools can help you interpret large datasets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
AI tools can also help you better understand your customers by analyzing purchasing trends, which can help you manage your products and/or services more efficiently.
Content Creation
One of the most common ways employees use AI is during content creation work. AI is fantastic at brainstorming ideas, drafting emails, wording social media posts, and creating data-driven newsletters. It can also assist with editing, proofreading, and changing the tone of already existing content to suit the audience.
