Cameras

Animal Detection Options

A unique feature of Verkada cameras is animal detection, which improves security by reducing false alarms, enabling targeted notifications, and helping monitor property or wildlife. This feature allows users to distinguish between a pet, a wild animal, and a human, ensuring that only relevant events trigger alerts and are prioritized for review. Verkada’s animal detection feature and filtering help rule out false alarms and focus on more critical vehicle or individual detections.

Four-Camera Multisensor Recessed Ceiling Mount

In our most recent Verkada release announcement, we discussed the CH53-E or CH63-E features and updates. These cameras can now achieve a more discreet, minimalist look with the new four-camera multisensor recessed ceiling mount (ACC-MNT-HREC-1). The camera mount allows for the equipment to be mounted flush with the ceiling up to 50 mm thick. The ACC-MNT-HREC-1 is available for preorder beginning November 6, 2025, and will ship on December 5, 2025.

Alarms

AI-Powered Deterrence

For businesses with regular foot traffic that still want to alert passersby that they are in a restricted area without constantly alerting team members, this artificial intelligence deterrence option is ideal.  It’s time to put the power of AI to work in your physical security systems. AI-powered deterrence leverages cameras and talk-down speakers to detect and deter unwanted behavior before an alarm is even raised. Instead of a single robotic message, you can now trigger a sequence of realistic AI-generated messages that can incorporate scene context and escalate over time if the person remains. The alarm program stops only if the person leaves after repeated warnings. This allows organizations to deter unwanted activity in areas with expected foot traffic without getting notified every time someone passes by. To learn more, read the full announcement.

Access Controls

Two-Person Unlock

A new Two-Person Unlock requires two people to present valid credentials to a reader for a door to unlock. This feature is perfect for high-security areas where tight oversight is paramount. Businesses that may find this option valuable include: pharmacies, evidence rooms, bank vaults, research labs, server rooms, and more.  This option includes an “exempt group” of administrators who can access an area without a second person by presenting the same credentials twice in a row.

Intercom

TS12 Square Audio Intercom

Verkada has expanded its intercom lineup with the TS12, an audio-only solution designed for environments where cameras are restricted and vandalism or high noise levels are a risk. The TS12 is available in three versions: the TS12-N with a black button for standard requests, the TS12-N-RB with a raised red button for emergencies, and the TS12-N-R2B, which includes both a black and a red button for general assistance and emergency calls. Featuring IP69 and IK10 ratings, the TS12 offers strong resistance to harsh conditions and physical impact. It also boasts a high audio output of up to 95 dB SPL, which can be boosted to 110 dB SPL when connected to an external speaker.

Guest Check-in QR Code

Using an intercom for guest arrival announcements works for many businesses, but for those with constant pre-planned arrivals, a QR code may be best. Verkada’s QR Code Guest enables visitors to scan the Verkada Guest-generated QR codes to gain entry.

Visit Key

Visit Keys allows organizations to grant temporary, call-free access to their building for visitors. Admins can create a visit key in Command by choosing which intercoms and credentials to use, setting a valid schedule, and deciding if the key is for single or multiple uses within that timeframe. Visitors can enter using web unlock links, approved license plates, PIN codes (for TD63 intercoms), and now, QR codes.

Live Caption

Live Caption ensures that intercom calls answered with Verkada Desk Station and Pass App (iOS) are captioned in real time. This allows receivers to clearly see what callers are saying, helping everyone respond effectively, even in loud environments or for those with hearing impairments. The beta launch supports English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, and Dutch.  To view all of Verkada’s November 2025 updates, visit Product Updates online.
