Verkada Announces 2025 Q3 Updates: Cameras, Alarms & Access Control

Let’s examine some of the exciting updates that promise to not only make your workplace more secure but also save you time and energy in the process.

Cameras

Among the most powerful security tools for businesses is the camera. They can deter theft and promote vigilance against both external and internal threats.  Recent Verkada camera additions include the CM42-S split mini camera, the CY53-E dual-head multisensor camera, and the CR63-E remote LTE camera. The company also released next-generation multisensor cameras (CH53-E, CH63-E, CY63-E), a new fisheye (CF83-E), and other next-gen dome cameras with enhanced features and image quality. 

CR63-E Remote Camera

The CR63-E Remote Camera with LTE provides 4K coverage in hard-to-wire locations, featuring a built-in LTE modem and multiple power adapters. Choose a solar install kit for a fully wireless deployment in remote locations. This camera system enables organizations to easily monitor areas without power or internet connectivity. 

CH53-E, CH63-E, and CY63-E Next-Gen Multisensor Cameras

Verkada’s new multisensor cameras feature multiple adjustable sensors in a single device, enabling coverage of large areas, such as hallways and exterior corners. The latest models offer organizations the choice between 5MP and 4K image quality in both two-camera and four-camera configurations. This provides a multisensor camera that will suit nearly any deployment scenario.

NCIC Integrations in Select States

Verkada now has live National Crime Information Center (NCIC) integrations for law enforcement in several states, including Arkansas, California, Illinois, Kentucky, and North Carolina.  This integration, which requires a Verkada Command organization hosted in AWS GovCloud, allows users to receive alerts from NCIC through their Verkada platform. Other states, such as Arizona, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania, also support integration, but access depends on the specific agency's location and integration status. Viewing Station Live Face Blur

Seeking security features like live face blur for enhanced privacy? Verkada's latest Live Face Blur feature enables users to instantly blur faces in real-time live camera streams, protecting privacy.  Previous versions of this feature blurred faces in archived footage only. This new feature is available for live video feeds on the Verkada Command platform and does not apply to Live Links or the physical Verkada Viewing Station. Administrators can set a default for all cameras or enable it on a case-by-case basis. Learn more about how Live Blur works. 

Alarm Updates 

Verkada’s intrusion protection has expanded in the last few months since the introduction of the new Alarm systems last November. Updates allow for greater reliability and communication.

BP32 Wireless Alarm Panel

This new and powerful addition to the Alarms portfolio is compact enough to fit discreetly in tight spaces, requiring only a single PoE cable for installation. Its size makes it ideal for small-footprint businesses, such as retail stores, clinics, and restaurants.  The BP32 Wireless Alarm Panel communicates locally with all alarm and access control devices on site, allowing for greater reliability and offline functionality. With a built-in LTE backup communicator and a backup battery that lasts up to 30 hours, the BP32 is designed to stay online during network and power outages.

Next Generation Wireless Sensors

The Q series is a suite of cloud-managed wireless alarm sensors designed for easy installation, easy servicing, and reliable performance. The series consists of a dual-tech door/window contact sensor, a dual-tech motion sensor, and a universal transmitter.

Access Controls 

Traditional locks have long been replaced by digital access controls for innovative organizations that want to control which employees have access to various physical spaces within a building, without having the hassle of changing keys or locks turning employee turnover.
